Live report from beach villa 211,
we got here Christmas Day and it rained in the afternoon for two and a half hours, it has been blistering hot every day since, missed the Christmas gala dinner, but the New Years gala was even better than last year, we were hoping to go on the three day cruise but only the one night trip has been offered, as the island is 100 percent booked and not over as it was last year
Anyone want any information or photos, just ask, four more days in paradise to go, already planning our next trip Very Happy
(Steve, if I'm in the wrong section feel free to move this)

Hi Rob

How great spending new year at Meeru!!

Two weeks today will be in the lounge at Gatwick Very Happy

I have emailed today asking for a copy of the wine list so we can have a bottle of sparkling wine in our room on arrival, I am hoping they have a different one to what we had last year (Don Luciano Moscato) which was not very nice. Mrs C only drinks the sweet stuff.

Weather is really grim here storms with more rain on the way.

enjoy the rest of your holiday

Geoff

Hi Rob. It will be my first time to Meeru on February 16th and am counting the days now. We have a water villa booked. In your opinion which numbers are the best? Have a fab time. My turn soon. Tracey

Hi rob.

We are due out on 26th jan. Could you take a few pictures of the view/area around beach villas 247-250 as that's where we are hoping to stay, and any new photos of the island in general. That would be great.

Thanks.

No still here for another 2 days.
I will take pics and reply ASAP the internet is free but very difficult to get onto with my I Pad. Maybe it depends how many are using it at one time.
Not stayed in water villas so no idea which is best but they all look good as any of the rooms
No rain for 2 weeks here and very hot - just off to see the sun set your turn soon happy days

Hi Rob
We arrive at Meeru on Tuesday afternoon can't believe that it will be hot, is it still warm at night too? Will we need sleeves or a jumper?
It's our 2nd and 3rd visit to Meeru but never been in January only November and February. Would love to see a picture.

It's the drier season in January, just as it is for February, i.e. it is actually the hottest time of year out there. But not by very much. All year round it is very warm, circa 30 degrees day and night with the sea temperature just a degree or so behind. You get more rain and cloud cover in Wet Season (April->November) but the basic sea and air temperatures are much the same. Peak daytime temperatures can nudge close to 40 degrees at this time of year (Dry Season that is).

So, no, you won't need a jumper for out there Laughing.

Conceivably though you could still pack one for your return home from whichever UK airport you're coming back to. Flooding and rain aside, we've had few frosts / cold spells yet and little snow but the UK Winter is far from done yet...

Have a good trip and a great time Helen Cool .

Sorry everyone I will not be able to post pics until I get home,
As for the evenings, you certainly won't need a jumper, it's very hot in the day and you will need plenty of sunscreen and shade around mid day
Also I've been bitten by mossies a lot this time, so bring plenty of citronella and Avon skin so soft which I find is the only stuff that works here.
Have a great time, as I'm sure you all will
