We travelled on the 1st September 15 and flew with Qatar changing at Doha. The flight was very good, only concern was the short transfer where we had to run for the transfer gate which seemed to be at the other end of the airport. Quite stressful but we ended up getting there with time to spare. Landed about 7am very hot and humid we had to wait about 1hour for the boat. We were really tired so seemed longer. Once on the boat we received a nice cold drink and managed to get last 2 seats upstairs. The we were off Smile. A very calm crossing to Meeru despite the short shower and I managed to get slightly wet but it was fun.

On arrival everyone was taken to the bar for registration and given a lovely drink a flyer was placed on our table for the Haagen cruise - I was waiting for the "no rooms" speech. We had booked an over-water villa and had e-mailed requesting Adult sunrise side (I'd had an email saying they couldn't guarantee but would try. In a very short time a lady came to our table and gave us the key to room 715 and it was ready straight away no mention of the flyer and no requests to move during our stay. We had packed two nights clothes in our hand luggage just in case anyway but this was not needed and we were taken by buggy to our room it was fantastic our tiredness soon forgotten we unpacked, changed, and it was time for lunch.

During our ten night stay we did the sunset cruise (saw loads of dolphins), went to the Asian wok (fantastic food), had the Seafood beach dinner ( again fantastic), also hot rock (really enjoyed that), went on the glass bottomed boat saw 2 turtles which was amazing, and also enjoyed Room service one night. Overall we had a really good holiday the only thing for me was (as a none swimmer) I was weary of going into the sea as there was a warning on reception about jellyfish and we did see them so that put me off even more.

The weather was really hot. We had a couple of showers in the day and during the night so can't complain.

Must mention the spa, really great massages and very friendly staff - on our last day they could we were leaving and came to wish us a safe journey - really nice touch. Our room boy was Alli who did a great job and our waiter was Tahi who again did a brilliant job.

On our return home, again a brilliant flight with Qatar, really nice food, loads of leg room, 4 hour stop over in Qatar, lovely shops but we were tired, did manage to sleep on our return to Manchester.

Will we return? Indeed we will.
