I am led to believe that the yacht Sarah operates out of Meeru offering the chance to prebook a cruise around the maldives (paid for not as an overbooking option)

Anyone been on this or know any info?

We did the loveboat excursion and went out on the Sarah. Not heard of anything more extensive than that being available.

I've not heard of such in relation to this boat but who knows this might come about eventually.

Incidentally possibly because (at least) British guests keep assuming that the boat is called and pronounced "Sarah" (as in the girls name) I've noticed that name painted on the hull has been changed in the recent past to Saaraa which is a spelling that indicates how it should be pronounced as a Maldivian word (i.e. Sah-rah).

It would be a perfect platform for touring and spotting wildlife - it has great sundeck aside from copious space on the main deck.

So I can see they might want to increase the Saaraa's utilisation but a significant bar to having any guests stay overnight on the Saaraa is the lack of air conditioning on that boat which was the case at least at last October.

So they'd have to fit AC first. Technically doable I'm sure, though.

Be interested to hear of any developments on this front.

So had a reply back from Meeru, seems it is the Goma that you can charter but the drawback is 2500 dollars per night Shocked

So we are looking into a private charter, have seen a 45 foot Catamaran which offer a 5 night cruise for around 1100 per night.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Here is what we have booked for next January
http://www.sailshantaram.com/
They are picking us up from the airport we will be aboard 5 nights going where ever we want then they will drop us at Vilamendhoo.
Had originally booked BA flights but Jai at Travel Lab found Sri Lanken 1200 cheaper so have booked with them and will stay an extra 2 nights on Vila with the money saved
