Hi I've seen a few youtube videos and saw small sharks and other menacing looking sea creatures swimming around close to shore and around the JWV steps. Are these anything to be worried about?
I also may bring my 6 month old and my wife is already pretty freaked out after seeing the small sharks swimming about.

Really you have no reason to worry. If you try to get close they are off like a shot. Just get your snorkel and fins on and enjoy. The best advice is to just relax and breathe 😮😁😋 |

They are small reef sharks and are nothing to fear. you will love the place.   |

Goolging reef sharks right now lol
How are the currents on the East JWV? I'm hoping to just go down the steps and jump into the water every morning but I read currents could be too strong? |

| Most are just waste high, I cant remember the currents being that bad. I know we are in the water villas but no problem this time of year. |

Reef sharks the ones that close to the shore are no longer than a meter and are harmless, more scared of you as you are a lot bigger than it will be.
Please don't get hung up on the sharks swimming around you will see them and a lot of Rays you don't touch them and they will not harm you, it great watching nature where it should be in the wild. you will see lots of different coloured Fish and coral its a wondrousness place. that's why a lot of us go back so often.  |

| The accomodation with steps into water are adult only. This should not stop you from swimming in sea though. |
