No steve, it's a friend's band.

John.

Which friend, just out of interest - is it Prowsey? I was a big fan of Pele when they were still around - did lighting design for them a few times at Loughborough University.

Cheers,

Yes Graham, it is Prowsey.

I'll catch up with Ian on Friday for a pint with a bit of luck over on the Wirral.

The Pele album Fireworks is a classic, still gets played a lot in our house now.

John.

APOLOGY IN ADVANCE for the majority of you who don't have a clue what John and I are talking about.

Oh, the memories! Very Happy

You're right, Fireworks is an absolute classic, and how Pele failed to become big will always stump me. They had a loyal following (me included!), and I was gutted when they called it a day. That said, their stuff has, and will continue to, stand the test of time, mainly because of their style and Ian's superb songwriting.

If you pass through Ellesmere Port (my home for 23 years), say hello from me!

Hello again Graham.

Apologies from me too for hijacking the thread!

Ian is indeed an outstanding song writer and I honestly think that it was just bad timing really that Pele didn’t become a household name.
The charts were filling up with house music etc around that time and watching live bands was probably at an all time low.

Oddly enough Graham, I’m from Little Sutton and we probably have a few mutual friends. Does Dave Morgan ring any bells?

John.

Hi again John,

Dave Morgan doesn't ring any bells, I'm afraid. I'm from Great Sutton, and I left Sutton High 6th form (aka Mill Lane) in 1990, so I don't know how that matches up with yourself. Feel free to PM me if you have any names in mind! I'd be interested in where-ish you lived.

I not very good at keeping in touch with people, so haven't seen most of my old friends for donkey's years.

Small world, isn't it?

Old? Old? You're as young as you feel!

Actually, I feel about 67 at the moment, I've had a hard week.
