Hi folks,
I have beent taking swimming lessons and I just wondered if any new swimmers had gone snorkelling on the island. Ireally want to try it but I'm a bit nervous about currents etc. My husband will be with me |

Hi Mrs Jol.....Don't think you have to be worried especially if you have hubby by your side. The water around Meeru is shallow and like a bath. When you get to the main snorkelling area it does get a little deeper but only feet from where you can still put your feet on the sea bed. The water is crystal clear and the colours of the fish are not to be missed, you'd regret it if you didn't have a go. Once done you will love it. The only place that really has strong currents is around the Over the water Villas (top end of the island) these can be strong and there are warnings there so you will know where I mean.

If you go on the snorkelling trips you can wear a floatation jacket which they will provide highly recommended as it takes any fear you may have away
