On the last day on Meeru my camera decided it did not want to play and took on a mind of its own, eventually the flash stopped working...It went in for repair (under guarantee).

It was like having my left hand cut off, I was lost without it, then the other morning at 07.00 we had 2 badgers visit. (its always the same when you dont have a camera to hand)

So I decided to go out and buy another Sony, didnt want to switch brands as I all ready have the extra lenses for my current Sony a380. I got myself a Sony a55 which has a digital recorder and a host of other extras.

After experiancing first hand Humble Jims camera breakdown on Meeru a couple of years ago and his decision to have 2 camera bodys just in case 1 breaks down...I have now followed.....

So basically H J is to blame ...least thats what I will be telling Pamela Wink

I bought myself a Canon 60D the other week. Although I haven't gone for a two body setup (the sale of my 400D went towards paying for the 60D).

The a55 looks like a nice camera Steve.

I have two camera bodies the Nikon D90 and the D300s. On our recent trip to Malaysia I took them both just in case, you never know. I, too always think of HJ when his failed on Meeru, it would have been heartbreaking to go all the way to Malaysia and not have a camera!

I managed to sort out a Photography Tour with a company called JungleWalla the other week and I found having two cameras around my neck was a godsend. I had a fast 35mm prime on the D90 as a snapshot and a nice long zoom on my D300s.

Had neck-ache by the end of the day though lol.

I bought my 400D a couple of years ago, and last year a chap at work was selling his hardly used 20D at a giveaway price. I liked the idea of having two camera bodies as well. It's not being greedy is it?

Quite interested in one of these a55's. New translucent mirror technology I believe. As an existing Sony user, some feedback would be most welcome.
