Has anyone used a Gopro camera for snorkling? I'm thinking of buying a new under water camera but don't want to go too expensive (prob 300 max) most of the reviews online are by mountain bikers, kyakers or skiers all above water.

Ian

Hi Ian, had had the same problem, and took a long time looking for a camera which I could use on hols that was not going to cost an arm and a leg so to speak. I found one which I have now purchased and so far so good the proof will be when I use it over the two week we are on meeru. the camera is the SJcam 4000 wifi, it has very good reviews on youtube where they compare it to the gopro i have been messing about with it at home and like what I see.

The camera was 74.99 from Amazon i got the head strap which I don't think I will use but would recommend the diving float/hand grip also don't for get the SD memory Card camera will not work without it. i spent about 120 for camera+case+SD card+Hand Float+head-strap+mount Extenable hand held mono-pod.

Don't forget check it out SJcam 4000 reviews on you-tube see what you think. Razz

Just got a Hero 4 Silver since it has a LCD display for the trip.

This might help with settings and such

Thanks for feedback. Hubby now has a hero 4 and has been using it in The Lakes to get used to it. The screen on the back is easier to see in day light than most cameras and the quality of video is fantastic. My problem is that the camera is so small I can hardly see it...oh to be younger.....
