Hi all
We've been back from Meeru just over a week now and dearly missing the place!
To help with the blues over the weekend I edited the video footage i took whilst recording a 'walking tour of Meeru', recorded on one of our daily walks all the way around the island
My intention is to give everybody a little Meeru experience whenever they need it and also help to orientate guests who are planning a trip
It starts at the north end and takes you all the way around in an anti-clockwise direction
Here is the link to watch the whole walk in real time which is about 45minutes
https://youtu.be/A5RZV6e6qOg
I also edited a sped up version which is about 25 minutes long
https://youtu.be/ioScbgeNsIY
I hope you enjoy

Yes I very much enjoyed marka Very Happy
Beautifully edited and presented. Just watched the short version on my ipad but going to watch the full length one on my large TV in the dark...the colours are stunning thumright

What was the tech used?...Go Pro? The footage is very sharp and stable.
Thanks for sharing.

Very neat footage indeed.

Tech assisted or not that retention of stability in that heat must have been very challenging Shocked .

Total respect for such a brilliant achievement Smile.

I once tried to do the filmed full walk around with an old style camcorder years ago and by about 60% the way through the shakes started as the heat + gravity started to affect my grip - stability left me spectacularly.

It was a discovery that you can shake in the heat and not just the cold!.

Footage was so poor that by the end I just wiped what I'd shot without bothering to offload it.

And for the more technically challenged I did think goodness very stable clearly didn't stand on any coral on the way round 😨 I too watched the shorter version but will watch the bigger one on the television later thanks again for taking the time to record and edit it better than Meeru s own video....

Thanks Casey, I used a GoPro Hero 5 with a 3 axis gimbal (Karma grip)
I added a CPL filter to the GoPro which i think helped with the colour but i lost some smoothness as a result (I think it slightly unbalanced the gimbal)
Hope you enjoyed the full version

Thanks HJ, it was a lot of fun to both film and edit
TBH the lightness of the GoPro, even with the gimbal made it pretty easy but can imagine with a bigger camera it would soon get uncomfortable!!
I took some other random footage which i will edit into a short clip one of thee days

Wow Camwill, that is very generous of you indeed, and of course I accept!
I'm happy to go out there to shoot the video in low season to make it less expensive for you Laughing Laughing Laughing

Absolutely stunning....you have judged the content just right, I love the shortened version with the speeded up sections..I know nothing beats being on Meeru but you have come very close second and puts a big smile on our faces...thanks

I have walked round Meeru many times, but not been back for a few years now. The 500's had two decks and the steps were in the water last time we were there Shocked

Thank you for posting this marka, it was really good to see how different certain areas of the Island are now Smile
