Since we were here in October the snacks menu also seems to have had an upgrade. The selection of sandwiches is more extensive and includes fillings such as mozzarella, tomato and pesto as well as tandoori chicken. My favourite addition is the fruit platter. Slices of pineapple, watermelon and papaya

Good to hear about all the upgrades Wink I hope we will be pleasantly surprised. 5 years have passed since our last (and first) visit.

It's been 5 years since our last visit, but it's all sounding just as good. We're heading back there on 6th May and can't wait. Great to see your live posts. Can we have some photos please Smile

The weatherís been more unsettled of late. Lots of sun and heat but cloudier. At 1 am last night it rained heavily with thunder and lightning.

Weíre off to seafood dinner. Tonight. Iíll be amazed if itís on the beach

Hardly any guests on the island. Iíd say occupancy has almost halved. Several rooms getting a makeover on the 300/400 and 600s

Generally very quiet - just how we like it xx

I remember a thunderstorm during our first trip, at that time the tide still came up under the villas. That thunderstorm terrified me as I was sure I was going to get washed away during the night the noise was unbelievable. It's one of the reasons we haven't really wanted to try the JWV.

You seem to have spent a lot of time in the Wok during this visit is this any reflection on the food at the buffet or are you being treated like royalty this visit Wink

Hi
The food in the buffet restaurants is superb. We eat in the Maalan and Iíd say the refurb has improved it. Love the tandoor. We just love the wok - we usually go 2 if not 3 times a week depending on other things such as full moon dinner -wok all at our expense. We never eat out at home so this is just our treat to ourselves. You canít dine over the Indian Ocean once youíre home is how ian justifies it!
J xx
