I know i should not moan after paying silly money for us to go at Christmas but-- Emirates are really taking the wee wee with the pre booking seat costs
to book twin seats and extra Legroom has cost an eye watering £540 extra (4x£60 & 4x£75) I know there is no charge 24 Hrs Prior to departure, but who wants to take that gamble at Christmas with a full flight !
I dread to think what business class would cost, never mind first (there is no First on our flight this time)
ps
And Emirates were stingy with the drinks trolly last year, we were offered a glass of water or orange juice on Christmas eve ! |

I know what you mean Rob..I think we paid around £340 for pre booking seats and then on our DXB - MAN leg they double booked them and they had to refund us £120 after some heated arguments.
Certainly noticed a drop in service and food quality over recent years and I know they are there to save my ar*e and not kiss it, but they are supposed to be one of the premier airlines.

On Emirates you don’t have to pay for seat selection in Business or First class. We flew economy last October and when we checked in there was an offer to upgrade to business class for something like £300 each per leg. We bit their hand off to do it on the Dubai to Birmingham leg! |

Would that is was like that on the Manchester Dubai plane.
Always, always v. busy that and that's despite using the A380 on that route too...
Maybe we'll catch a break in about a fortnight from now... |

I think it made a difference that it was a 2-class A380 so also very busy and wanting to upsell to free up more economy seats I think! |

We flew with BA in January and yes it cost a small fortune to pre-book our seats in Business class.
Next January we are flying with SriLanken and have already pre-booked our seats free of charge |

Not sure whats happening with Emirates lately? We decided to ditch them this time and fly Turkish.
Turkish were much cheaper and it didnt cost a small golden pig to pre book some decent seats.
Nothing ventured nothing gained as they say. |

Obviously UK to Ankara and then onwards to male are u staying in Turkey or just transitting will be interesting to hear how you get on I'm just back and want to go back already as I'm sure everybody feels when they r just back! Journey there was OK but return absolutely horrific and I personally don't feel Emirates are a premium airline anymore controversial know but I'd be interested in other options now.... |
