Here's a proper permanent link to the days-to-Meeru date calculator I put together some months ago. It's for all those of us waiting to go to Meeru and wanting to know exactly how many days/sleeps are left to go Very Happy .

Right click on the link below and select Save Target As... to download this nifty Windows utility to your hard disk somewhere.

http://www.meeru.co.uk/howlong/HowLong.exe

It should be a doddle to use but if you've any issues/problems with downloading, installing, or running it then just PM me.

Big thanks to Graham for kindly offering to host this... thumright

Hi

You may not have admin rights o your PC either way Vista is very locked down. Try a diary for more reliable functionality. Bring back Windows 2000 Laughing

In fact it'll run happily in all 32 bit versions of Windows including XP as well as all flavours of Vista.

It will also run on all editions of the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows 7 too.

To make it run without the operating system nagging you first each time do the following for whichever is your version of Windows if any of these are yours.

Vista and Windows 7 specific instructions

Once you've downloaded it to your Vista/Windows 7 machine just navigate to the file and Right Click on it and select Properties. At the bottom of the first Tab view you'll see a button labelled Unblock.

Press the Unblock button, then Apply and then the OK button.

The program will then run happily thereafter without Vista/Windows 7 prompting you for any action - whether or not you have Vista's/Windows 7 UAC feature turned on or not.

XP specific instructions

Once you've downloaded it to your XP machine just navigate to the file and Right Click on it and select Properties. At the bottom of the first Tab view you'll see a button labelled Unblock.

Press the Unblock button, then Apply and then the OK button.

This will then mean that XP won't give you annoying 'The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software ?' messages each time you run the program.

Sorry, by the way, to Unix and Mac users. There is no version of this program for you.

The utility is a simple one, designed to be easy to use and work on as many Windows platforms as possible. When the program runs you get a calendar object on a form with no extra fancy gizmos.

All you do is navigate to the date you want to count to using the controls on the Calendar. Those include the left and right arrows, plus if you click on the month name it will drop down allowing you to leap ahead by months, or the year in which case you can jump years by scrolling up/down.

Once you click on the date of interest in the future just hit the Calculate How Long To Go ! button and you'll be told exactly how many days it is until you arrive at Meeru. You can use it for anything else you like, I've worked out how many days until I retire with it!

Don't confuse this item with the TickerFactory countdown bars that some forum members use and display in their posts. If you want one of those then head to the http://www.tickerfactory.com web site.

Do you mean the Ticker Factory thing (as opposed to my calculator) ?

For the ticker factory item to work I believe you need to "Always allow BBCode:" in your Profile (go to Profile when you are logged on to the forum). For further tech support for the Ticker Factory strip either visit the ticker factory website or search for ticker help threads on this forum. One example I turned up is below:

Hope this assists
