I also purchased the reefwear sets - pink for me blue for H2b... I ordered Sunday they came before 9 this morning Smile I have a feeling his fins will be too small though (he's an 8 so on the border) we went for the smaller ones as he fitted another pair in a 7. I called the shop as I was going to check tonight and then just order the fins (works out cheaper than returning kit etc) plus it says on the site exchanges can be made but original item to be sent back and once received they will dispatch new item.. obviously we havent time for that and the man was so helpful and said if i call tomorrow if they dont fit he will send new fins to me then i can return other ones... I thought that was quite nice....

Would thouroughly recommend this site....

bumping an old thread rather than start a new one...

What is the quality of the snorkeling gear like that is available to hire on the island? I've not done it before and am hesitant to spend £ on gear just to use it a few times (i'm not sure when I'd use it again after Meeru).

I must admit though, I am tempted to buy mask and snorkel and hire fins.

Any opinions?

Hi Steve,
That's we do for my wife. We bought a basic mask and snorkel here for around 10£ both and we hire the fins there. It costs 4$ for a day.
I've my equipment.

PMSL - couldn't work out when I'd posted this! Now I realise it's an oldie!

Just a question - we bought reefwear sets, and they were fab with one exception - my mask let in water. It just didn't seem to stick to my face at all, now this could be the sun tan lotion, but short of not putting any STL on I don't know what else I could do...

Now it might NOT be that, it could be the fit of the mask too - any thoughts?

I have just ordered the silicon set from Steves link in a previous post on this thread.

They were so helpful and now I just can't wait to try them out.

I ordered them from here if anyone is interested.

I also ordered a couple of pairs yesterday from mikes Diving.

Ordered online at about 4 pm and they've come in the post to work this morning.

Gor some funny looks from my collegues sitting at my desk with a pink snorkel and mask on but couldn't wait to try them on. Laughing

Really good quality and soft on the face. Bargain i thought at £19.99.

Oooh I can't wait to get them through now Ali.

Normally for the maldives we just go to JJB and buy a cheap set which have kind of been ok but we would spend half the time complaining when the water leaked in the mask. Laughing Laughing

I will let you know how they compare when i get back Cool

When you have finished using them, give them a good clean and dry, I pack mine back into the plastic box it came in. same for packing in the case, you will be supprised how much you will be able to fit with out causing damage to the mask.
