Is it normal to start really nervous, but so want to do it?? Confused

Ive added scuba diving to my insurance and am really keen to have a go at it again. I did the Discover Scuba course at Lily Beach 4yrs ago and was so proud of myself but i get so nervous about it, i dont to be a fool in the group.

Is it best to get myself some flippers? Got masks but no fins. Nemo

Yes it is best to get flippers. I always get nervous before I scuba dive and my husband was a naval diver and dived all over the world, so I always felt safe going with him, but once I was in the water, my fear left me, I was so amazed at the sights underwater.

Enjoy yourself and enjoy the sights...

Hi Niccol

I know you have been back ages from Meeru, but was just scrolling through and saw your post. I am getting very nervous, the thought of doing the course. (we go in 7 weeks Very Happy ) I'm a competent swimmer but not a competent scholar!! Sad How was your diving theory ? I have done a couple of try dives years ago but have decided this holiday as its a special one, to do the Padi Scuba Diver course. Very nervous though, as havent sat in a classroom for years. The prices are a bit confusing, it list the price including equipment, but then goes on to say the boat is extra?
It's the two and half day course with 5 dives. Any info will be appreciated,
Many thanks

Paula

Hi Paula
I was a very nervous novice 3 years ago but decided to try and haven't looked back.Did my Open water diver and then the next year my Advanced course.
The staff at the Diving schol are absolutely wonderful at putting you at your ease and are well used to dealing with people who are nervous!
Might be worth getting hold of the theory book before you go if you're really worried but I found reading up on the beach much more enjoyable Very Happy
As far as I remember the price for the course includes the cost of all dives and boat but not absolutely sure-probably best to check.
When do you travel to Meeru-you mentioned 7 weeks-we will also be there in 7 weeks, going from Manchester on 23rd Feb so may see you there!
Cheers
Helen
