Fabulous report Pamela - we actually went on the other boat and had a wonderful time. We went at the beginning of our holiday - arrived Monday left Tuesday - found the cruise was available after we had unpacked - not condusive to a happy Vanessa! But we too would not have missed it for the world - and it did not cost us a penny extra.

I also can vouch that HJ exists as we met him on our previous visit in Feb 07.

Vanessa

Great report Pamela

We're booked into a JBV next Feb, but I think I'll change it for a bedroll in reception to ensure we get on a cruise if available.

Thanks for taking the time, great to see another satisfied Meeruite doing their best to ensure future visitors get the best out of their time in Paradise.

Stu

Enjoyed reading this as we did see these cruises advertised last June.

I don't know how relevant this is..but I am curious when people put their names down on the clip board to volunteer for the cruise who actually gets preference?

Is it first come first served?...In the remarks column on the clip board at reception people were asking for crazy upgrades from LV to JWV although you would expect the same standard of accommodation upon your return.

Would these people with the type of requests above be automatically (or should I say 'bumped down' the list in preference to a couple with 'reasonable' requests upon their return?)

How do they eventually come to decision on who goes on the 3 day cruises or is it just luck at the end of the day?

Might look out for any cruises on offer in August when we return. Very Happy

Thanks again for an excellent insight into one of Meeru's great adventures Smile

Hi Casey

From what has been mentioned to us by management, is a first come first served basis, and by putting in a "downgrade" does not mean you are bumped up or down the list....

The requests can be out of this world....but a few weeks ago 1 lucky couple from a standard room got a JWV for their last 4 nights... Smile

We will be looking to do this trip again next Feb

Hi
This is my first post ... reading all of the reports I am getting Soooo excited . We are off to Merru in March 2010 .
We have booked AL with first choice but would appreciate any tips on how much the 'extra's ' will cost as we have no idea how much spending money we will need to take ... need to start saving big time !!!
Love the write up about the cruise .
Can anyone give me a rough idea how much this would be ?
Many thanks
Mandie Smile

Hi,

Were off on the 16th April and can wait. Love the sound of the free cruises but have 1 reservation and wondered if somebody can clear it up.
We have booked a JWV and i assume that when you go on one of these cruises the jwv is then rented out to somebody else! When we return from the cruise do we get our original JWV back or is this not guarranteed?
Hope you can help.

Also many thanks for this forum, so much great information..Dave & Julie

No you will be allocated a different one although you can be specific where you want to go when you return.

When we did the cruise we asked to go back to a land villa in the low 200s and thats what we got.

You may chose for example a JWV in the mid 700's even numbers etc.

You will be given preferential treatment. When we did our cruise everyone on board, apart from us (our choice) was upgraded (one couple who had been in a Land Villa spent the rest of their holiday in a honeymoon suite).

does anybody know if its just ran in the main season as were going june & this is out of season?

also do they offer it you when you arrive due to overbooking?
or can you just put your name down in reception on a board?

sorry if this has been mentioned just there's a lot of posts to read through Shocked Cool

thanks in advance Laughing
