If so, how was it?

Stop over in Dubai in the new terminal, how was that?

Looking at booking with Kuoni and was supposed to be going to an other island flying with Sri Lankan but due to flight timing changes I am not amused with this! Shocked

So any info on them would be great.

We would be flying from Glasgow stopping in Dubai.

We flew Emirates from Heathrow to Dubai and then over to Male in February. The flight from London was on the new airbus 380 which is awesome - a magnificent piece of kit. Loads of room, extremely comfortable and the ICE system was brilliant. Staff great and food was brilliant - far too much in actual fact. Dubai airport was excellent Duty free fags and bacci incredibly cheap. Flew from Dubai to Male on one of their older planes - 777 - still really good though, just lacked the newness of the airbus. I have no complaints at all - and have happily booked to fly with them again. We only flew economy but their economy is better than First Choice and Thompsons premium which we have done before. Never fear - it will be good

Don't think we could stretch to the atlantis, already having to sell a kideny as we are taking my in laws out for their special birthdays this year.

Hi
We flew from Manchester via Dubai - with 3 hr wait. Emirates were fantastic... entertainment second to none.... seats were great. We went for the rows of 2 at the back!!!

Met actor John Thompson who was sitting in front of us on Manc - Dubai stretch... he says he travells to Dubai a lot and always goes for economy as its so comfortable and not worth paying extra. Would totally agree!

Dubai terminal - for Emirates only - was very new!!! very impressive - shops and bars etc open 24hrs. We hoped to do some shopping of electrical stuff and memory cards stc, but definately not cheap there!!

£hrs went by very quickly despite it being the middle of the night!!!

Issy

Hi Liz

We have just come back from Meeru and flew with Emirates from Newcastle va dubai. Emirates are a great airline with a good choice of food, free drinks and a great entertainment system in your chair. The staff are always friendly and polite.
We flew economy and it is like sitting in premium on Monarch flights with plenty of leg room.
Dubai is great but the duty free is not really that cheap. Check with Emirates because whenwe left Dubai they told us the baggage allowance is going upto 30kg.

Hi Liz,

I've flown Emirates three times. Service and food was great! Just a tip..dress smart casual..for the three trips i took with them, i asked for the exit row at the check in counter. instead of getting the exit row, they upgraded me for free each time.

the emirates clerk at the counter mentioned to me that passengers who ask for the exit row do have good odds at getting upgraded. (she then whispered to me that it would be best to dress smart casual as it will help your odds)..

dont know if that helps.. but i do love flying Emirates!

We have already prebooked seats. Girl at travel agent has noted that this is our delayed honeymoon (even although we spent our honeymoon in Meeru last year) so you just never know!

Andy,I presume you got upgraded to business class?,we are waiting for our daughter to book our flights as she works for Emirates as an air hostess, hoping we can get the 95% off the cost of the flights if the plane is not full but if the plane is full we may have pay 50% to guarantee seats.

We fly out this Fri 22nd and yes they have increased the luggage allowance free of charge to 30kgs each and still have 7kgs of hand luggage.

Hi

Beware with the luggage allowance going up to 30kg.... sea plane will still only take 20Kg per person

I was worried about 'only' 20kg.... when we packed we put everything in we wanted to take (hairdryer, straighteners, tons of sun cream and moituriseres etc ) and still had 4 kg spare between us... Bikinis and kaftans really don't weigh a lot, and with no need for shoes or towels.....

Geting boat transfer this time so luggage not an issue. Having trouble reserving seats though, when I try to save and continue it reverts back to the old selection Shocked
